Standard letter to Assistant Attorney General Perez

December                 , 2010

The Honorable Thomas E. Perez
U.S. Department of Justice
Civil Rights Division
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Office of the Assistant Attorney General, Main
Washington, D.C. 20530

Dear Assistant Attorney General Perez:

I respectfully request and urge the United States Department of Justice to begin an immediate, impartial and unbiased investigation into the shooting death of Danroy Henry, the PACE University student who died on October 17, 2010 outside of a bar in Thornwood, New York. We believe that the Mt. Pleasant Police Department is too closely involved with the tragic death of Danroy Henry to conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation of itself and the circumstances surrounding his death. We call for the United States Department of Justice to take over this investigation immediately and ensure that an independent and neutral investigation occurs and that all information uncovered is reported impartially and without prejudice.

Sincerely,

DJ Henry Letter Writing Campaign - Universities/ Colleges

Reaching out to leaders of Student Organizations (Law Students Associations) at various Universities and Colleges have proven productive:

Example: We, the Friends of the Henry Family, would like Harvard University to join the cause to help find the absolute truth for The Henry Family in the shooting death of their son/ brother, Danroy “DJ” Henry. In that effort, we would be looking for:

- 1 table in the Student Center (or area with high visibility) for welcome, sign-in, set-up
- 2-3 hours at the Student Center (or area with high visibility)
- an easle (for picture of DJ)
- snacks donated for the students to munch on
- students to sign letters to elected officials asking for an independent investigation into DJ's shooting death

Currently working with Harvard University, Suffolk University and Bentley University. Will keep you posted on dates. Please reach out to the schools you are affiliated with. Alumni organizations will also work well. Thanks, Deepa

Civil Protest this Sunday

We will be holding a CIVIL protest for an impartial investigation for my cousin Danny. We are there to demand the Department of Justice take over this case, so that we can find the Real truth as to what happened the morning of October 17, when they decided to use deadly force and took the life of our beloved Dj. All we want is to known the absolute truth as to what happened that morning so that we can move forward and come to te...rms with what has happened to our family. We are also introducing the PLEASANTVILLE 7, a group of young men who were involved the night of the shooting, four of whom are being charged for crimes they didn't commit... Danroy Henry Jr., who lost his life, Brandon Cox(passenger in Dj's vehicle) who was also shot in the arm , Desmond Hines(also passenger in Dj's vehicle), Daniel Parker, Joseph Romanick, Joeseph Garcia, and Yves Delpeche( these four being charged).

THE MORE PEOPLE THAT CAN COME SUPPORT US THE BETTER. EVERYONE IS INVITED! After our meeting in the church,(2:30) we are going to march down to the courthouse, about 2 or 3 blocks down. If anyone wants to bring posters to show support that is greatly appreciated, and we are asking that everyone TRY TO WEAR A BLACK SHIRT to support the cause. PLEASE I REMIND YOU THIS IS A PEACEFUL EVENT, WE HAVE TO BE ORGANIZED WALKING DOWN TO THE COURTHOUSE SO THAT WE ARE NOT BLOCKING THE SIDEWALKS OR STREETS! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AGAIN AND AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT
