WINGS OF HOPE EVENT

((NOT JUST FOR STUDENTS, ANYONE MAY PARTICIPATE!!!)) We want to find a way to show our support for DJ & his family! This could be considered a silent protest that could be done in school without getting in trouble, leaving class, or doing anything different than you do everyday. Everyone would have a white balloon, draw the #12 on it with wings, and tie it to their bookbag or whatever it is that they carry for the day... so it lo...oks like a little angel floating above you. Its a simple but strong way to get attention whether you're at school, work, on the train, etc. We don't want people to just wear it at school, but to also wear it when they go out for the day. We need as many students to participate as possible!!! The national media is covering the story of Aaron Hess receiving an award after murdering DJ Henry and they want to see if students will do anything at all. Please stand with us and make a statement! Some students have spring break next week so if your school does please let us know. The main thing we want people to do is to get as many students on their campus as possible and to contact their local media. All the local media coverage from around the country will inevitably lead to national coverage which is what we need more of. For this police officer to get an award is absolutely disgraceful and we need to do something to show we're not okay with it! We want to make sure people wear their balloons EVERYWHERE they go that day whether it be on campus, to the store, out to eat, whatever!
